Thomas Riggins is a retired city housing manager and currently a university lecturer in philosophy and ancient civilizations in New York City. He is a veteran of the peace and civil rights movements of the 1960s. He holds degrees from Florida State University and the CUNY Graduate Center. He is currently a member of the United Auto Workers and a former Teamster. He has been writing for Political Affairs since 1999 and more recently for People's World.
