Her speech, on the importance of feminism in today’s world, covered the topics of women’s rights, peace and the importance of the upcoming elections.

In a front page article in the Oct. 5 Albuquerque Journal, Paul Logan describes how all the Catholic leaders of New Mexico have taken a stand against a war with Iraq. “The bishops of the state are gravely concerned about the threats of war with Iraq,” said Archbishop Michael Sheehan. The elected officials of this state have been inundated by requests to take a stand against the war with Iraq.
Street heat for peace & justice
NEW YORK – Twenty thousand people converged in Central Park Oct. 6 to proclaim in one voice, “No War!” The “Day of Resistance” brought together many different social and political organizations, including community, labor, student and religious groups. Most speakers focused on the Bush administration’s war drive on Iraq.
