Governor races: Key to defeating the right wing

With the question of war or peace hanging in the balance, the Nov. 5 elections for the Senate and House of Representatives have center stage. But voters in 36 states will elect governors. Since there is no incumbent in 21 of these races, voters will have elected at least that many new governors when the polls close Tuesday night.

A recent study by the Center for Budget Policy and Priorities (CBPP) says more than 370,000 people ran out of their temporary federal unemployment benefits in September, raising the total number of unemployed workers who have exhausted all of their unemployment benefits, including the federally-funded extension enacted last March, to at least 1.5 million – a number that will continue to grow as the “recovery” falters and Congress refuses to act.

Boston janitors claim victory

Longshore union charges Justice Department bias
